Shorts
The shorter the better! Tight Hot-pants, fitted Boy-leg or 50’s bloomer style shorts are the best. Many of the moves you will learn require skin contact with the pole, so the more thigh you expose, the easier the moves will be, especially sitting on the pole. Leggings just don't cut it.
We understand that you may feel a little self-conscious at first, but everyone in your class will feel the same way. Small shorts are necessary from level 2 upwards.
Most importantly, all women have cellulite, and after a while you stop noticing it... :)
Singlet or T-Shirt
Again, skin contact is important so a singlet or T-shirt is most suitable. From level 3, we tend to wear crop tops to enable us to use belly skin to grip the pole.
Shoes Most of our lessons are taught barefoot, therefore you don’t need to wear shoes. As you progress to the level 2 you will have the option of learning to dance in heels. You must be able to confidently walk in them, and they must have an ankle strap. We recommend you purchase shoes specifically designed for dancing as they are less likely to break. Shiny PVC sticks to Poles fabulously.HowCool have some pretty cool shoes at reasonable prices. Proper ballet flats and toe ony jazz shoes are acceptable, as in purchased from a dance store.
It is imperative that there are no creams, moisturisers, lotions, fake tans or oils of any kind on your skin (arms, legs and hands).
These transfer to the poles, making them slippery and greasy and will affect your ability to stick to the pole.
Vertical Strength can be in either pole or gym attire. Bring water.
Ballet requires flexible, tight clothes, lycra, running shorts etc. A water bottle, and a happy attitude (and a pair of socks).
