Pole Dance and Pole fitness Classes
We teach Pole Fitness classes at 5 sequential levels.
All new students, who are new to Pole Fitness start at Level 1. This level emphasises confidence on the pole, and students become more familiar with how the pole feels. Level 1 is designed to teach a fun introduction to the art of pole fitness, while expanding the repertoire. In Level one, the spins are gentle and at low levels.
Level 2 student learn progressional moves from Intro: spins, lifts / kicks, aerial spins, routines, climbs and poses. level 2, you’ll learn spins and tricks which require just a little more strength and flexibility, and students are encouraged to progress at their own pace. This is also a great opportunity to perfect the moves you mastered in level 1, and really polish up your dance moves. We also introduce the concept of combinatino spins at this level. Levels 1 and 2 are often taught together in the same class.
In Level 3, you’ll learn basic inverts, strength poses, alternative grips, choreography and reverse aerial spins. You’ll be encouraged to show off your new found strength and flexibility through freestyle dance sessions in class. This level encourages students to experiment with moves, using the strength and skills built up from earlier lessons, and an emphasis is placed on increasing strength and tone.
Level 4 continues on from level 3, with an emphasis on taking tricks learnt at low levels higher up the pole, more strength and flexibiilty and at this level, students are encouraged to create their own routine for hows and competitions. At this level, tricks using no-hands to grip are mastered, as well as combination moves.
At level 5, students learn the really scary, flash stuff. Aerial and hand held inverts, handsprings and cartwheels onto the pole, dives and other tricks executed quite far off the ground.
This class is quite demanding, and requires an advanced level of strength and flexibility
Progression to levels are based on ability, control, and strength. Students are encouraged to progress at their own pace, to ensure they fully master all the moves and tricks before progressing to the next level. Instructors can help you assess when you’re ready to progress. Safety is paramount, as is correct technique to prevent injuries. We are constantly working with health and fitness professionals to understand how to prevent injuries.
Our non-pole classes are for everybody!!
Burlesque / Boylesque
These are on hiatus. We recommend contacting the lovely Miss La Belle about her classes.
Vertical Strength
Julz Darroch runs a weekly class for gaining strength for pole. However, this class is not just for pole people and is beneficial for all. The focus is on core strength using static holds and strength work, in addition to either the upper or lower body in each class.
Pole PT
Julz Darroch runs one on one Personal training sessions for those who have injuries and want a specific exercise programme to address injuries and weaker areas. This session will not only include the one on one training, but also a booklet of specific exercises for your reference.
Ballet for Real People
Lacey is one of our trainee pole instructors. She's also a qualified Ballet instructor and has many certifications in dance. As we've been stealing her Ballet conditioning exercises for class, we thought it was time to open up our own Ballet class. The focus is for the complete beginner and doesn't require a tutu or pointe shoes. It's also for boys.
